Student Speaker Application

Apply in the Spring for speaker related commencement opportunities! Represent your graduating class!  

Upon graduation, your Ohio Union Activities Board (OUAB) would like to inform you of a wonderful opportunity to be a student speaker for the Commencement Eve Candlelight Speaker!

We will be holding our traditional Candlelight Ceremony on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 9 pm. During the event, you will hear remarks from Ohio State administration. Two student speakers will be selected through an application and audition process to address the crowd to share and reflect on their Ohio State experience for graduates, family and friends in attendance.  

If you are interested in speaking, the application is open NOW and closes on April 5, 2024. It can be found at https://commencementweek.osu.edu/secure/speaker-registration.

If your essay is selected you will be asked to present it in front of a panel of judges.
