SP'17 Commencement Candlelight Ceremony!
When is the Candlelight Ceremony?
All graduating students and their families and guests are invited to the Spring Commencement Candlelight Ceremony which will be held on Saturday, May 6th at 9:00 pm on the Oval near Thompson Library. The graduating students will receive a class pin available exclusively at the event. President Drake and Ohio State Vice President for Student Life Dr. Javaune Adams-Gaston will offer remarks.
Things to Know about the Candlelight Ceremony
- Arrival at 8:00pm
- All members of the Ohio State community are invited to attend.
- No RSVP required.
- The duration of the ceremony is a little less than one hour.
- A limited number of chairs will be available on a first come, first served basis for guests who need them.

Student Speaker Application
Your time at The Ohio State University has almost come to an end. Are you still looking for a way to leave behind a legacy of all your own? If so we have a great opportunity that you are able to take part in! We are looking for a Student Speaker for the Spring Commencement Week Candlelight Ceremony which will take place on May 6, 2017 from 9:00 to 10:00 p.m. on the Oval outside of Thompson Library. Registration is now open at:http://commencementweek.osu.edu/secure/cw/speaker.aspx. The application will remain open through March 24, 2017 at 11:59 p.m.
All you have to do to apply is submit your proposed speech about your experience here at The Ohio State and what it has meant to you. If your speech is chosen you will then be asked to perform it in front of a carefully selected panel of judges, who will choose our Spring 2017 Commencement Eve Candlelight Ceremony Speaker!
